This group of positive role models has been handpicked for their strong ethics, passion for sport and unrelenting pursuit of personal success for each of ParaSport Spokane’s athletes.

Teresa Skinner (OTR/L) – Executive Director

With over 20 years of coaching and administration experience in working with athletes with Physical Disabilities, Teresa brings an unparalleled level of passion and expertise, and an expansive network to match.
ParaSport Spokane was Teresa’s brainchild when a distinct need for a sport program arose in Spokane in 2013. She has been a driving force behind many community outreach, awareness and education initiatives, and the rapid growth of this program is attributed to the network Teresa has and the energy she puts into doing what is needed to engage more athletes in the community. Also a National Team Coach for the US Paralympic Track and Field Team, Teresa’s reach is felt nationwide as she coordinates and implements a number of development clinics that awaken people with disabilities to their potential as athletes in Paralympic Sport. As a licensed Occupational Therapist, Teresa is contracted throughout the region to provide services.

David Greig (MHK)– Development Director

Tomie has been coaching wheelchair sports for 14 years in the Spokane area. This includes basketball for the junior varsity team, the adult DII team and the adult women’s team. As a certified disability sports specialist Level II, Tomie became involved with wheelchair sports as a recreational therapist at a local children’s hospital. In this position, she discovered what a catalyst sports can be to encourage independence and promote positive self-regard. She has traveled with junior and adult teams nationally and internationally, and she served as staff member on the US team that competed at the World Championships in Lyon, France, in 2013. Tomie recently returned to graduate school and obtained a MSW, and she continues to be involved with adaptive sports because of the strong belief that adaptive sports do change lives. Tomie also serves as the President of the Board of Directors for ParaSport Spokane

As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Justin blends his knowledge of exercise and nutrition with a passion for helping as a strength and conditioning coach. He strives to develop confident and capable athletes by providing them with the tools to be physically fit and ready for competition. Justin uses strength and conditioning as a catalyst for life by instilling the values of hard work, mental toughness and perseverance in our athletes. These values not only build strong athletes but also build character. When not training our athletes, he is busy assisting with our wheelchair basketball and road-racing programs. Justin is married to Christine, and is a proud father of Grace and Matthew. He is also a professor in the Health Sciences Department at Whitworth University.
