Para Athletics, or Para Track & Field is governed by US Paralympic Track and Field.
We are a USATF member club and also a member organization of Move United which provides competitive opportunities through the USA.

Who can participate in track & field?
Anyone with a physical disability! There has got to be an event out there for you, so come out and try. Our program is goal oriented and we emphasize hard work while having fun. Athletes compete in individual events within a supportive team environment. Contact ParaSport Spokane to find out more!
Ambulatory eventsAmbulatory is a term commonly used for those individuals who have a disability but are capable of walking, running & jumping unassisted or with a guide (for vision impairments). The ambulatory group of athletes comprises a large demographic of those with cerebral palsy, vision impairments, amputations, short stature, dwarfism, club feet, limb deficiency as well as those who have had a traumatic brain injury, stroke or other neurological impairment that impacts mobility.
Frame RunningFrame running is a supported running device that enables those who lack the capability to stand unassisted to be able to run freely. Check out the video embedded below.

ParaSport Spokane provides equipment such as race chairs, throwing chairs and throwing implements, should an athlete require a guide runner, we will do our best to find a guide who will work well with them.
Events & distances
On the track: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1,500m, 5,000m, 10,000m -Ambulatory & Wheelchair racing.

Washington is one of the few states that offers wheelchair racing and ambulatory events integrated within High School Track & Field!
